Needle Felting with Allison Harding

Learn to needle felt a lovely leaf (or other shapes) that you will embellish with beads, sequins and threads. Add a pinback to make a one of a kind brooch, attach to a hairclip, a stretchy headband, or use as a patch. Allison will teach you how to use all the tools, best fibers for needle felting, fiber blending, beading and embroidery stitches. All materials and tools will be provided.
Class length: 3 hours
Experience: none needed!
Age: 10 and older but under 16 should be accompanied by adult
Homework: none
Supplies: Students may bring embroidery threads, silks, yarn scraps, beads, sequins, favorite felting tools, if desired. Instructor will provide carded and dyed wool, embellishment yarns, threads and beads, felting and sewing needles, threaders, and holders, scissors, work pads, shaping forms, pin/barrette/headband findings, and embroidery stitch references.

Cost: $40 plus $15 materials and tool use fee.

Learn to Spin Beehive Art Yarn – Georgean Curran

The beehive yarns can be used in a number of ways. Weaving weft. Baskets, necklace, tree
ornaments. (Like strung popcorn) But not really good to knit with. Bring a wheel with a large orifice. Teacher will supply fiber, core yarn and yarn for auto wrap.
Cost: $40 plus $10 Materials Fee

Tunisian Crochet with Allison Harding

Class type: technique and project
Class length: 2 hours

Description: Challenge your brain and give your hands a new set of skills by learning Tunisian Crochet. Allison will teach you the basics of Tunsian Crochet plus buttonholes while you create a beautiful cowl. You’ll learn foundation, simple stitch, edge stitch, buttonholes, and bind-off plus lots of tips for success and the history of Tunisian crochet. The cowl is fast to work up and makes a great gift, too!

Pre-req/skills needed: basic beginner crochet; If you can make a chain stitch and a single crochet, you can learn Tunsian technique! This class is open to 12 and older with an adult.
Pre-work: none
Student materials/equipment to bring:
Approximately 170 yards worsted weight (#4 medium). This cowl looks great in solids, short or long color changes and textural yarns. For your first learning project I recommend a multi-color short change color way; avoid solid dark colors which make it hard to see your stitches while you learn.

Six (6) 3⁄4” to 1” buttons (do not need to bring to class)

Optional: Yarn needle for weaving in ends, one removable stitch marker
Teacher will provide: Tunisian crochet hook (for you to keep), yarn needles, scissors, stitch markers, pattern

Spinning the Breeds with Amy Wolf

Come enjoy this half-day class on sheep breeds and their fiber uses. No experience
necessary. Bring a working wheel or just your fiber preparation tools as you learn about 8 different
breeds of sheep and leave the class with over a pound of washed fleece! The breeds presented are raised by shepherds that have been raising and showing their breeds for over twenty years.
This year’s breeds are:

Shropshire
Cotswold
Coopworth

Cost: $40 plus Materials Fee $20

The Tiny Sock Masterclass with Teresa Waldo

Cast On for Comfort! Join our 3-hour Sock Knitting basics class. We’ll be knitting a miniature baby sock to learn all the essential tec\hniques—turning the heel, picking up gusset stitches, and closing the toe. It’s a full-sized education in a tiny, adorable package! All attendees receive a copy of our go-to “First Sock” pattern.

Materials to bring:

  • DK or light worsted weight yarn in two colors, approximately 65 yards of main color and 45 yards of contrasting color for cuff, heel, and toe.
  •  Size US 4 and US  5 –  32″ Circular knitting needles for Magic Loop Method
  • Stitch markers, scissors, and a tapestry needle.

Cost: $40 Plus $6 Supply Fee

Create a Coiled Wool Bowl or Coaster with Kathy Kemp

These bowls and coasters are a great way to use up spare yardage of pretty skeins, handspun or
otherwise. Afterward, use them to hold your drinks, jewelry, keys, spare change, or anything else.
They make great gifts for any occasion, too. Cotton cord, various types of yarn, yarn needles, and
scissors will be provided.
