2017 Shepherds’ Extravaganza will be conducted and managed by Western
Washington Sheep and Fleece Show, Inc. (WWSFS)
show and sale will be held on April 19 - 23, at the Washington State Fairgrounds
in Puyallup Washington. Entries must be in place by noon, Thursday April 20th.
and payment of entry fees is due by March 15th, 2017.
No refunds will be made on withdrawn entries after the entry deadline.
fees are $5 on all rams and ewes. All sales will be by private treaty.
sheep pen area may not be used to sell craft or wool items.
animals are intended for breeding and be registered with their breed
association. Each animal must be tagged
with flock ID tag or
tattoo with corresponding registration certificate.
2015 lambs may have applications for registry forms with
corresponding ear tags in their ears. Registration
certificates or applications must be presented to Sheep Chairman by noon on
Only those animals that have lamb’s teeth will be presented as lambs. If
weaned lambs are offered for sale, they must be 2 months old or at least 50
pounds. Lambs must be born after September 1, 2016. Yearlings may
have two year old teeth. Aged rams and ewes shall be under 5 years old and
be in show condition. Ewes with suckling lambs are on entry and may not be
sold separately. Suckling lambs shall be able to be registered.
animals will be inspected by an inspection committee for disease and external
parasites. Animals showing signs of disease or parasites shall be removed
from the fairgrounds.
sheep must have Federal Scrapie tags or tattoos in the ears to be eligible for
this show and sale. No exceptions! Suffolk and Hampshire rams must
have proof of 1R at codon 171 if entering Washington state.
sheep on the grounds will be held at owner’s risk, and ownership will pass to
the buyer at the time of sale.
animals shall be removed from the Fairgrounds at the close of the fair.
Sold animals may leave early once permission is granted by the Sheep Chairman.
