FIBER WORKSHOPS

 

Beehive Art Yarn  …………………..……………………………………..........Friday, April 20, 10am-12:30pm

Instructor: Georgean Curran

Bring (or can borrow) a bulky spinner to make this special yarn.

Class fee: $30.  Material fee: $6. 

 

Needle Felted Sleeping Mice ……………………………….……………Saturday, April 21, 11am—1:30pm

Instructor: Sheila McCoy

No experience necessary to needle felt mice in different sizes

Class fee:  $30   Material fee:  $5.

 

A Diamond in the Rough, - choosing mohair fleeces for use in fiber arts...Saturday, April 21, 2—5pm

Instructor:  Amy Wolf

Whether spinning, knitting, weaving, or felting;  come to this hands-on class to discover which fleece to choose for your project.  We will be spinning, weaving, and felting samples during the class.  We will also be looking at raw fleeces to finished product and different grades of hair.  Please bring:  Any supplies you might need to spin your samples and various sizes of knitting needles.

Class fee: $30.   Materials fee: $20.  (includes:  1 pound of mohair, 1 felting kit, and one pin loom)

  

Locker Hooking with Wool Rovings……………………………………….…Sunday, April, Noon—3pm

Instructor: Christl Hammond

In this class you will learn about the art of locker hooking: what it is and how it developed. You will also learn, step by step, how to locker hook with wool rovings, from getting started to using different patterns and methods to finishing your project. You will have your own locker hooked sample to take home.

Class fee: $30.   Material fee:  $8.

How to keep those special fleeces dry and clean in the Pacific Northwest   weather.

Class fee: $30.

 

Shearing on a Stand……………………………………………………...Sunday, April 21st, 10 am - 1 pm. 

Instructor:  Eileen Hordyk. 

A ‘hands on’ workshop for anyone interested in learning about shearing .   Eileen has over 25 years of experience shearing using this method.   Dress  for sheep handling and shearing participation.   Bring gloves, and shears if you have them.
